About this activity

Build a rocket and watch it fly with this brilliant activity that will help improve your concentration and flexible thinking skills.

  • Paper, sticky tape, scissors and a straw.

Use the paper, tape and scissors to create a rocket. The simplest way is to cut the paper in half, roll up one half into a tube and use the other to create a cone. Stick them together with the tape.

Now put the straw into the tube and blow to launch your rocket. Alternatively, you can launch it by throwing it – how far does it go?

How was this activity?

Limit the time and the amount of paper children have to make their rockets.

Encourage children to keep trying different ways of building their rocket till it works.
